This is a bullion gold coin produced by the Austrian Mint.
The obverse of the coin features a pipe organ from the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, while the reverse features instruments such as cello, violin, harp, Vienna horn, and bassoon. The
Vienna Gold Philharmonic Series
coin was first issued in 1989 in honor of the world-renowned Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Originally issued with a face value of 2,000 schillings, the face value was changed to 100 euros in 2002 with the transition to the euro. Currently, in addition to the 1 oz gold coin, the series also includes various sizes of split coins, silver coins, and platinum coins. To mark the series' 20th anniversary, the Austrian Mint issued a special 20 oz Vienna Gold coin with a purity of .9999.
Vienna Gold Coin Design:
Since the series' inception, the Vienna Gold coin has featured the magnificent pipe organ from the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, with musical instrument motifs on the reverse. The back of the pen features beautifully arranged instruments, including a cello, violin, harp, Vienna horn, and bassoon, creating a design that conveys respect for music and artistry.
