The Austrian Mint proudly presents the 2013 'Vorarlberg' 10 Euro Silver Coin, the fourth enchanting release in its popular 'Austria Piece by Piece' series. This unique collection brings to life Austria's nine federal provinces through coin designs conceptualized by the very children who call these regions home. The 'Vorarlberg' coin offers a charming and imaginative depiction of Austria's westernmost province, celebrated for its stunning alpine landscapes, the majestic Lake Constance, and its vibrant traditions. The design, conceived by local schoolgirl Alissa De Mori, beautifully captures the essence of Vorarlberg's identity with youthful enthusiasm. Struck in exquisite Proof quality, this coin is a testament to both Austrian ingenuity and the captivating allure of its landscapes and customs."

II. Iconic Symbols of the "Ländle": Design & Artistry
"The coin's design intricately weaves together Vorarlberg's most cherished symbols:

Obverse: Features a prominent depiction of a woman wearing the spectacular "Bodensee-Radhaube" (Lake Constance Wheel Bonnet). This ornate, wheel-shaped bonnet is a symbol of Vorarlberg's rich traditional costume heritage, recognized as an example of "intangible cultural heritage" by UNESCO. In the background, Lake Constance (Bodensee) and the distinctive St. Martin's Tower (Martinsturm) in Bregenz, the provincial capital, complete the scene. The coin also bears the inscription 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' (Republic of Austria) and the face value '10 EURO'.
Reverse: Showcases a delightful composition highlighting Vorarlberg's diverse natural beauty. It includes a scene with Lake Constance and boats, alongside the peak of the panoramic Pfänder mountain and its famous cable car. The design also subtly incorporates green meadows with cows and a tractor, representing the region's agricultural landscape. This side also includes the year '2013' and the provincial coat of arms. The thoughtful composition captures the multifaceted charm of Vorarlberg through the eyes of its youth."
