2026 28.28 gram England Queen Elizabeth II
100th Anniversary Silver Proof Coin £5 Brand New Unused Limited Edition: 6510 pieces Fineness: 92.5% Silver Diameter: 38.61 mm Weight: 28.28 g Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning queen in British history, ruled through turbulent times, consistently bringing peace and stability to her people. Since her accession in 1952, the Royal Mint has minted all official British circulating and commemorative coins during Elizabeth II's reign. Now, 100 years after the Queen's birth, the Royal Mint issues a commemorative coin celebrating Elizabeth II's illustrious life and record-breaking reign. This series features two reverse designs created for this important monument: the first by heraldic artist Timothy Nord, inspired by the wrought ironwork of St. George's Chapel where Elizabeth II is buried; and the second design by the visionary artist Henry Grey, which weaves oak branches with hidden symbols representing the four regions that make up Great Britain. The series also includes a selection of coins symbolizing important milestones in Elizabeth II's life. Finally, a limited edition commemorative sovereign gold coin concludes the series. Minted on April 21, 2026, exactly 100 years after Elizabeth II's birth, these sovereign gold coins feature a private engraving inspired by the lily baptism font in Buckingham Palace's private chapel. *Silver coins may change color if fingerprints are left on them, so we recommend wearing gloves when handling them directly.
