Bullion silver coin produced by the Austrian Mint. The obverse depicts the pipe organ installed in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, and the reverse depicts musical instruments such as a cello, violin, harp, Vienna horn, and bassoon. Starting with the Vienna Gold Coin issued by the Austrian Mint in 1989, this series has expanded, and Vienna Silver Coins of 1 oz and .999 fineness, as well as pure platinum coins of .9995 fineness in two sizes in 2016 and 2018, have been added. All coins in the Philharmonics series pay homage to the "Golden Hall" of the Musikverein in Vienna, with various instruments used by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra depicted on the obverse and reverse designs. In 2004, a special 1,000 oz edition was issued to commemorate the Vienna Gold Coin, and a 20 oz gold coin was issued for the series' 20th anniversary. Currently, gold coins are issued annually in 1/25 oz, 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1 oz sizes, and a wide lineup including silver and platinum coins is available.
